Wally D. Gillespie - Partner
|
Mr. Gillespie has over 11 years of experience in the medical instrument
and device industry involving conceptual design, product development,
prototyping and production design. He is well versed in
conventional machining processes and rapid prototyping
techniques. He has experience with state of the art materials and
related fabrication processes and with the construction of anatomical
models. He is familiar with laboratory and testing equipment and
designing experiments. He is familiar with computer based
analytical tools for the purpose of design and verification. Prior to
its acquisition by Flex Partners, Inc., Mr. Gillespie was a consultant
at Dave Matsuura & Associates (DMA) providing contract design
engineering services to various device companies.
At Flex Partners, Mr. Gillespie has conceptualized and developed
several products for orthopedics, urology, cardiovascular and minimally
invasive surgery including an annulotomy closure device, deep
ultraviolet laser system, articulating tools, device for the
attenuation of pressure waves in the body, bone graft harvesting, and
an intervesical infuser. He has consulted on projects such as
urinary incontinence, Trans Myocardial Revascularization, Immune
Modulation Therapy, implantable defibrillators, anchoring devices for
cardiovascular transducers, and a variety of products utilizing
bio-absorbable materials.
Mr. Gillespie holds 8 US patents and currently has 12 patents
pending. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering from San Diego State University.
