
Flex Staff Bio's
Helen Anderson – Engineering Assistant
Helen has interned
with Flex throughout her final three years as a Mechanical Engineering
student, over which time she has acquired a broad range of skills,
including; machining, designing, prototyping, testing, CNC programming,
and 3-D modeling using SolidWorks. Her attention to detail and
ability to carry through tasks with perfection have helped Flex deliver
numerous quality precision parts and medical device related prototypes
to clients.
Helen holds a
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in
Business Administration from San Diego State University. She was a very
active student, holding several leadership positions in both the
American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Tau Beta Pi. She continues
to hold a position on the board of the local ASME professional section.
Daniel Huynh -
Senior Designer
Daniel
Huynh
is an award winning artist and jeweller. He apprenticed with a
master enamelist before moving to San Diego. At Flex Partners he works
in the prototyping shop using CNC machine processes, cast silicone
molds, along with traditional hand skills. Daniel plays an
increasingly integral role in the design and prototyping stages of
product development alongside Flex’s team of engineers. He also
serves as the resident IT staff.
He holds a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech.
Belinko
Matsuura
- Project Manager, Mechanical Engineer
Belinko has been working at Flex
Partners, Inc. since 1999. He is experienced in mechanical engineering
product design and prototyping for venture start-ups and established
companies. He also specializes in the design and fabrication of micro
fluidic devices.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering from San Diego State University, an Associate Degree from
San Diego Mesa College and has studied abroad for eight years.
Dagmar Matsuura
Dagmar K. Matsuura has 23 years experience in the Medical Device
Industry.
During her tenure at IVAC (Alaris Medical Systems) she planned,
directed and coordinated activities for the Corporate Document Control
department in compliance with ISO9001: 2000, “Quality Management
Systems – Requirements”; FDA Quality System Regulation (21 CFR Part
820); EN 46001, Quality Systems – Medical Devices.
Dagmar started working with Flex Partners, Inc. in 2002. Some of
her responsibilities include manufacturing process development, product
line fixturing development and testing, process documentation, and
product qualification testing.
Education and Training include: BS equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
from SPSS Bratislava, Czechoslovakia; Quality Systems; Good
Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality System Requirements (QSR)
programs; Leadership; Management and Business programs.
Pamela Plummer
Pam has many years
experience in the medical device industry. Prior to working at Flex
Partners, Pam was employed at IVAC Corparation (a Division of Eli
Lilly) for ten years. Her position as Executive Assistant to the
President included a variety of task including liaison with the vice
presidents, scheduling, and coordinating meetings. She joined the team
at Flex Partners in May 2002. She is responsible for financial and
clerical duties as the office administrator for Flex Partners.
Monique
Winters
Monique has over 4
years experience in the medical device industry. Her core
involvement and competencies include product design and development,
initial proof of concept, and communication between client and
engineers to ensure design goals and requirements are being met.
In 2008, Monique became a certified Patent Agent and is utilizing her
knowledge and experience from her years of engineering to assist Flex
and clients in obtaining effective patent protection on their
inventions. Additionally, Monique assists inventors by conducting
early stage patentability searches in order to educate and inform
inventors on whether it would be cost and time efficient to pursue a
patent, or if there would be any risk of infringement.
Her experience and knowledge includes machining and assembling
prototypes for proof of concept, 3-D modeling using SolidWorks,
validation and verification studies, 510(k) submissions, and project
management. Areas of the medical device field that Monique has
participated in include; ophthalmology, cardiac ablation, drug delivery
devices, orthopedic (e.g. spine, foot, shoulder) tools and implants,
and stomach implants (for treatment of obesity). Monique is
also a management figure within Flex, assisting in the development of
interns and business marketing.
Monique graduated from San Diego State University in 2005 with a
bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering.
