Dave Matsuura
Principal Partner and CEO

Dave has over 40+ years of experience in the medical device industry involving product development, engineering management, design engineering, manufacturing and the creation of intellectual property. Dave is named as an inventor on 80+ US patents and has multiple patents pending. He specializes in the design of medical devices, medical device delivery systems, and the creation of intellectual property. To date, Dave has cofounded or facilitated the founding of multiple startups.
Dave has conceptualized and developed multiple products for the orthopedic, urology, drug delivery, POC, gastroenterology, anatomic visualization, minimally invasive surgery, stem cell processing, surgical robotics and the cardiovascular markets.
Philip Simpson

Mr. Simpson has 45+ years of experience in the medical device industry including administrative and senior level management experience as well as having been a co-founder or board member of several start-up ventures. He is experienced in all phases of the product development process, including conceptual design, intellectual property, and production design. He has developed and/or managed the development of mechanical, optical, electronic, and software products, and has particular expertise in rapid product development, reduced time to market, and cost reduction.
Michael McCormick

Michael has 20+ years of experience working with Medical Device companies. His expertise includes corporate formation, financial and administrative management. He has served on the boards of many companies and is the Vice-Chair of a $100M Credit Union. From 1994 to 1996 he directed the City of San Diego Fire Department Emergency Medical Service (EMS) operations with a budget of $4.8M and 85 field paramedic/firefighters responding to 60,000 emergency incidents annually. Michael also served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve for 25 years, achieving the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 4 and supported planning, preparedness and operational tasks related to major incidents in the Marine Safety field.
Louise Focht

Louise has held engineering, quality assurance, research and development and product development positions with several medical device companies. She has been a co-founder of four orthopedic companies and President of one. She has been responsible for the introduction of more than 15 new orthopedic products, and is considered an industry expert in regulatory affairs. Louise has been a board member of the Orthopedic Surgical Manufacturers Association and the American Foundation for Surgery of the Hand.
Belinko Matsuura

Belinko has worked with several early stage projects where he takes a raw product idea and develops engineering concepts for prototyping and evaluation. He has worked on some of the smallest implants ever developed for human use and recently he has been developing a surgical robot for minimally invasive surgery.
Adam Ariely

Adam has 15+ years of experience in medical device design and development. His expertise includes early stage corporate establishment, intellectual property development, stateside and overseas manufacturing, regulatory submittal and clinical testing. Adam has extensive knowledge in the field of injection molded part design and design for manufacturability. He has managed projects across a variety of disciplines including orthopedics, cardiovascular, ophthalmics, urologics / gastroenterologics, POC diagnostics, and fitness / physical therapy.
